2D Arctic Animals 

Over the Christmas holidays we were set a challenge. We had to create a 2d arctic animal. We used a range of different materials to create our animals and we all had our very own unique ideas. We had so much fun working together with our families to make our pictures and models. Please take a look at our fantastic arctic animals!! 

Arctic Yoga

This week in our PE we have been learning Arctic Yoga!! First we had to warm up our bodies by doing some gentle exercise we could feel our hearts starting to beat real fast after our warm up. Miss Jackson showed us different poses we learnt the aero plane  pose, iceberg pose, seal pup pose and the walrus pose. We really enjoyed learning yoga!! Well Done Nursery on learning different arctic yoga poses!. 

Chinese Dragon Dancing

We have been celebrating Chinese New Year in Nursery so as part of our PE lesson this week, we have been learning how to move and dance like a Chinese dragon!!. We found a space in the hall and began to warm our bodies up, once we were nice and warm we watched a little video on how Chinese Dragon's move. We listened to instructions on what to do. We then got into two groups and each group got the chance to move around like a dragon we moved around in a circle we moved up and down it was so much fun!! Move like a Dinosaur!!

We are learning all about the dinosaurs this term, so we decided for our PE lesson that we would see what it would  be like to move around like a dinosaur!! We started off warming our bodies by doing a little activity called 'sticky trees' we had to get with a friend and stick ourselves to different parts of our bodies we really had to use our thinking skills!. once our bodies were all warmed up we finally got to be dinosaurs we moved around the hall like a t-rex pterodactyl, diplodocus and a velociraptor we really enjoyed being a dinosaur. We are looking forward to next weeks PE lesson to see what dinosaur activities we will experience.

World Book Day!!

Nursery enjoyed a range of activities for World Book Day,Our story was Dinosaur Roar which we all enjoyed listening too. We made a book box and decorated it to look like a dinosaur, then we put in different items that related to the story. We enjoyed sequencing the story as a group, and looking at all the rhyming words within the story

We ended our morning by taking part in PE it was called dinosaur roar and we got to dance and move like a dinosaur. We had a fantastic morning, please take a look at our very busy morning.

Easter Parade 

Today was the day we have been practising for weeks for! We     performed to our friends and family a range of Easter songs. We wore our lovely Easter bonnets and sang lots of songs. We then enjoyed parading around the hall to show all our fabulous hats.  We have enjoyed learning our songs and performing to others.

What makes us sad! 

In Nursery's circle time we have been talking about our feelings! this week we have focused on what makes us sad? The children held the sad emotion stone and talked about what made them sad! The children gave some great ideas such as they would be sad if they lost their favourite toy when they miss their mam and dad or if they hurt themselves. Well done to nursery for been so confident to talk about their feelings. Stay tuned each week as we talk about different emotions/feelings during our circle time.

What makes us scared?

It was circle time again in Nursery and this week we focused on what makes us scared? Miss Forrest read a story about being scared, Then we all had a chance to tell the group what actually makes us scared lots of us were scared of spiders, thunder and lightening, the dark, once again nursery are building their confidence skills each week during there circle time well done everyone!! ..

Chinese New Year 2019

To end our Chinese New Year celebrations we enjoyed some Chinese food tasting we got to try spring rolls, prawn crackers, rice and other Chinese treats, we were very surprised  at how tasty they were and how much we liked them!! We then got to look at different Chinese objects some of us even got dressed up!! We had a fantastic morning!! Well done to Nursery for trying all the different Chinese food!! 

Going for Goals!

During our circle time we have been talking about what we can do in nursery, but we also talked about what we would like to achieve in nursery. We decided to set ourselves goals we got busy thinking what we would like to achieve we came up with some great goals, such as writing our own name, zipping our own coats up, recognising our numbers and many more!! stay tuned over the next few weeks to see if we can achieve our goals!!  

Spring Disco

We loved getting our best party clothes on for the Spring disco this week, we all had so much fun meeting up with our friends and dancing to the music!!. We all got to enjoy hot dogs drinks and sweets. Take a look at us enjoying the Spring disco!!.

Easter Cards

We have been working really hard over the last couple of weeks creating our special Easter cards for our grown up's. some of us made Easter bunnies and some of us made Easter chicks, we used lots of different materials to make our cards look creative and colorful we are really proud of them. What makes us angry?

During our circle time we continued talking about our feelings, This week we talked about what makes us angry? Miss Forrest read us a little story about a rabbit who got angry about certain things. We listened to the story then we talked about our feelings some of us felt angry when people were unkind, or when friends did not share or take turns! Well done Nursery once again you are all getting confident to talk about your feelings keep up the good work!

What makes us kind?

We have been talking about kind feelings during our circle time. We listened to a story on how people show kind feelings. We then took it in turns to tell our group what we have done to show kind feelings, there were some great answers such as helping their grown-ups sharing toys with their friends, helping our friends if they are upset. Well done to Nursery for been so kind to one another and to the people around them 

What makes us feel loved?

This week during circle time we have been talking about what makes us feel loved, We listened to a story then we then took it in turns to tell the group what makes us feel loved, some of us said our mams make us feel loved when they cuddle us, our friends make us feel loved when they are kind to us. We also talked about how it makes us feel happy known that we are loved by different people in our lives. Well done to Nursery who are each week growing in confidence to talk about their feelings during circle time!!

Dinosaur Devastation!!

WOW we were so surprised to come into nursery after the holidays  to see dinosaurs everywhere!! we got to work straight away by investigating the areas and choosing jobs to do!! some of us have been drawing dinosaur pictures, making dinosaur dens in the construction area, we all have had a great time in our role play area as we have pretended to be dinosaurs!! we have had so much fun on our first week back to nursery we look forward to see what happens with the dinosaurs next week! 

To that someone special

We have been very busy in Nursery making cards for that someone  special in our lives! We made a flower using cake cases  and adding  different materials to them to make them   extra special. We all done a fantastic job and hope our special someone liked them! Take a look at our finished cards.
