Key Information

This information about our school should be of help to those choosing a school and to parents whose children already attend the school. The information is also designed to inform the wider local community. The Prospectus refers to the 2020-21 school year and was correct in June 2020.

Blackfell Primary School is a co-educational county primary school for boys and

girls of all abilities from 4 to 11 years of age. We take children into our Nursery from 3 years old, and Reception class from 4 years old. Blackfell Primary School is not affiliated to any particular religious group.

A parent and toddler group meets in school community room for one session each week (details from the school office).

Class Organisation

We organise our classes by age. At the end of the school year children move automatically to the next year group, until it is time to transfer to secondary education.   Apart from specific individual circumstances described under the heading "Special Needs", children receive all their teaching as part of their class. This teaching may be individual, in small groups, appropriate to the task. At times classes may combine to study particular topics. Each class teacher is responsible for most of the teaching their class receives.

We have achieved a variety of awards including Activemark

Healthy School Award

International Award

Gold Anti Bullying Award and Artsmark Silver.
