Our First Week
Year 2 have settled into their new classroom and routines very well! What superstars they are!
Circus Poems!
We have had great fun with Dr. Seuss' poetry this week. We really enjoyed acting out some of his bizarre and unusual verses. We then used his ideas of rhymes to create our own rhyming lines.

Clown Art
During out Art lessons we have enjoyed creating our own contrasting clowns in the style of Andy Warhol's prints.
The Human Body!
We have been learning about Humans in Science. We were lucky enough to be joined by baby Alex and learnt about the differences between babies, children, adults and the elderly. We have then been thinking about keeping healthy including a balanced diet and exercise.
A Visit to Oxclose Church
Year 2 and Year 1 had visited Oxclose Church to see Cannon Hopper. We enjoyed singing Christmas songs.
Number Work!
We have been doing lots of work on place value this week. We had to find our partners in this activity and match the words to numbers. Good job!.
Roll up, Roll up!
Marty from Circurama joined us in our Circus skills work shop. We were amazed at the tricks he shared with us and we went on to learn some of the skills like balancing, spinning plates, the flower sticks and juggling. We really enjoyed all of the fun activities we got to have go at.
Let Us Entertain You! Class Assembly!
We were super stars in our class assembly. We taught our audience about the history of the circus and the differences from the past to now.
Snow White
In preparation for our Theatre visit we have been learning about Snow White. We have acted the story out, re-wrote it and thought carefully about characters and their motives

She's Behind You!
A great time was had at the Tyne Theatre watching Snow White! We joined in and were very impressed with the singing and dancing!
Road Safety
Year 2 have been taking part in the Walk Wise scheme. We have been learning about how to keep safe on the roads around Blackfell.
Circus Science
In Science we have been investigating different materials and their properties. We looked at what materials would be waterproof and which would be best for a waterproof tent. We decided on a Mac like material as it is both light and waterproof.
Children In Need
Year 2 children really enjoyed raising money for children in need. We enjoyed a yummy cake sale, toy swaps and our children in need disco.
KS1 Nativity
KS1 performed a fantastic Chirstmas Nativity. Well done you were all fantastic!
Christmas Party
Year 2 enjoyed their Christmas Party! We did lots of dancing and party games! I hope you all have a brilliant Christmas and New Year!
