A Special Police Visit 

This term we are learning all about 'people who help us' we began our lovely topic by having a visit from the local police, we were so excited as we got to find all about what the police do to help people in the community. We also got to meet Russell who is a police sniffer dog!!  We got to listen to a story about how to keep safe. We even got to try on their special uniform  and sat in the police car, we turned on the sirens and watched the flashing blue light, we had a fantastic morning learning all about the police we would like to thank the local police for coming in to visit us!! 

World of Work Week 

Oral Hygiene Nurse 

To start our World of work theme we had a visit from the local oral hygiene nurse, she came to talk to us about how to keep our teeth and gums healthy., she showed us how to brush our teeth correctly and how many times we should brush our teeth. We all got to play a game of deciding which foods were healthy or unhealthy for our teeth!! We got to meet a friendly dinosaur who had the most perfect clean teeth we even got to brush his teeth to make sure they were extra clean! We had a fun morning learning all about our teeth and we will make sure we clean them to prevent any sugar bugs!

 

Our Nature Garden!

For our world of work topic we were giving the task to make sure our nature        garden  was all tidy so we became gardeners for the week!! We put on our           overalls and made sure we had gloves and tools and we set off to work!! We looked at the different areas to what need           de cluttering  and started to tidy up all the weeds, sticks and stones, we all worked really hard at cleaning the area up!!  We are looking forward to hanging up our bird feeders and exploring our new nature garden in the near future!! Well done Nursery!!

 

 

A Special Visit from the Firefighters!!

To continue our learning on people who help us, the local fire service came to visit us!! We were so excited when we seen the big red fire engine pull into school, We got to look at the firefighters equipment and what they use in different emergency's. We even got to try the water hose which we really enjoyed!! We got to listen to one of the firefighters called Ian he showed us his special uniform that he needs to wear when he is helping with a fire!! We would like to thank the local fire service for coming to visit us we learnt a lot on how you help people in the local community!!

Our trip to hall hill farm

What an amazing day we had at Hall Hill Farm we had so much fun, we got to see lots of different animals such as a peacock, llamas sheep ponies, and many more. We got to experience holding the fluffy rabbits some of them were so big!! And some of us were very brave to feed the lambs they were very hungry!! We all enjoyed going on the tractor for  a ride around the farm it was so bumpy !! We had our lunch in the barn which we really enjoyed. After washing our hands making sure they were nice and clean we got the opportunity to hold the chicks it was then time for home so we all got back onto the bus we were so tired as we had such a busy day!! We would like to thank Michelle and Rosie for all their help we all enjoyed it and will be visiting again in the future.

 

Making bird feeders

We  have really  enjoyed  making bird feeder's  for the nature garden, we used some cheerio's which we threaded on to some string and we also worked together to mix  together some lard  with meal worm and bird seed, once we had mixed together we put the mixture into   individual yogurt pots. We are really looking forward to placing them in our nature garden. We hope the birds like them!!..

 

Telling the truth!!

During our circle time Nursery have been discussing why it is so important to tell the truth! We listened to the story The Boy Who Cried Wolf! we learnt we should always tell the truth in any situation! Well done Nursery on your listening skills! Stay tuned to find out what Nursery will be discussing in their next circle time.. 

Healthy Eating!

We had a special visit from the nurses they came to see us and tell us all about how to eat healthy. They showed us lots of different pictures of food and we had to guess which food was healthy or unhealthy. The nurses talked about how much  sugar was in different drinks  and in some drinks there was so much sugar!! We would like to thank the nurses for coming to  see us and learning us what food is healthy and unhealthy. We had a great morning take a look at our pictures.
